The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance. Please read this section
very carefully!

apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.

• The appliance must only be used for cutting hair. Only use the appliance domestically; the appliance is not

designed for commercial or industrial use (for example in a hairdresser’s shop).

• Only use the appliance to trim human hair.

• Never use the appliance outdoors.

attention! Never leave the appliance connected to the mains when it is unattended.

Do not leave the appliance whilst it is powered on; the operating vibration can easily

cause the appliance to fall from a surface. If you intend to stop using the applicance even

for a short time, you should switch it off and put the appliance onto a level, even surface

where the appliance cannot overturn and where it cannot be accessed by children.

• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without

experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device.

• Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the

appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.

• In order to avoid electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Never touch the

appliance with wet hands. Never allow the wall socket to become wet. You must have dry hands when
you plug the mains connector into the wall socket and when you unplug it. If any moisture gets inside the

appliance, immediately stop using it and take it to a service engineer for checking or repair.

• Do not use the appliance in a bathroom or a shower cubicle.

• The appliance can only be used on dry hair.

• After use and before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the mains. Never do this by pulling

on the cable; always take hold of the plug and pull out of the socket. Switch off the appliance before
disconnecting it from the mains.

• Keep the appliance from being dropped from its storage place and from falling into a container or sink

containing water. If the appliance is dropped into any liquid (or if humidity penetrates its casing), it is
essential that you first unplug the appliance before lifting it out of the liquid. After doing this, ensure that an
authorized service agent checks or repairs it.

• Don’t use the appliance in the presence of explosive or inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.

• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around

the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the appliance with the mains cable because
the cable can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised
service engineer. The appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.

• Do not lengthen or alter the mains cable of the appliance. If you need a longer cable between the appliance

and the wall socket, you should buy a standard extension cord from an electrical dealer. When using an
extension cord, be careful not to create a hazard that you or someone else could trip over.

• Don’t put the appliance near hot objects (e.g. oven, hob, heating appliance etc.) or on any hot surface. Don’t

place the appliance anywhere it could slide down, fall or be knocked off accidentally. Avoid exposing the
appliance to direct sunshine as the cover of the appliance may become faded or distorted. The intended
operating or storing temperature of the appliance must be between +5°C and +40°C.

• Do not use the appliance with damaged or broken comb attachments or if fixed or moving teeth are broken or

damaged. Broken or damaged comb surfaces and blades can cause injuries.
