Troubleshooting
After trying the methods below, if the problem persists,
contact your nearest Sony dealer.
No picture (screen not lit), no sound
“►Make sure the power cord is connected
securely.
^Check to see if the TV/VIDEO setting is
correct: when watching TV, set to TV, and
when watching video tapes, set to VIDEO,

^Before you use the TV, cable box or DSS
receiver, make sure to press the
corresponding FUNCTION button on the
remote commander. The indicator above the
FUNCTION button that you selected

^Try another charmel. It could be station
trouble.
Poor or no picture (screen lit), good sound
^Adjust PICTURE in the VIDEO menu, (page

^Adjust BRIGHTNESS in the VIDEO menu,

Good picture, no sound
^ Press MUTING so that "MUTING"

^Confirm that a black and white program is
not being broadcast.
Only snow and noise appear on the screen

Dotted lines or stripes
^Adjust the antenna.

reflections from nearby mountains or tall
buildings.)
Cannot operate menu
“►If the item you want to choose appears in
grey, you cannot select it. Press TV /VIDEO
correctly.
“►Check the CABLE setting in the SET UP

Cannot receive upper channels (UHF) when
using an antenna
“►Check if CABLE is OFF in the SET UP

^Use AUTO PROGRAM to add receivable

Cannot receive any channels when using cable

Remote commander does not operate
^Battery could be weak. Replace the

“►Are fluorescent lights too close to the TV?
Move lights at least 3-4 feet away from
the TV.
