MONITORING

Be sure to follow your facility’s policies and

guidelines for frequency of patient monitoring. Posey

recommends that this product be removed at least every two

(2) hours to check for skin integrity, proper circulation and

range of motion.

INSPECTION

Inspect before each use: check for broken stitches;

or torn, cut or frayed material. DO NOT use soiled or damaged

products.

DISPOSAL

Properly dispose of the product per facility’s policy

for BIOHAZARDOUS materials.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
This device is designed for use in normal indoor environments.

This device may be stored in ambient warehouse temperatures

at normal humidity levels. Avoid excess moisture or high

humidity that may damage product materials.

ARM SLINGS

Arm Slings position, support and stabilize arms to

promote healing.

APPLICATION INSTRuCTIONS:

1. Push the serrated edges of the slide

buckle together and thread the strap

from underneath through the opening.

Separate the slide buckle to create an

opening and pass the strap back through

the serrated edges of the buckle (fig. 1).

2. Place the arm into the sling and slip the

strap over the patient’s head.

3. Adjust the strap to the length needed.

Tuck any excess strap back through the

buckle and pull down behind the sling.

4. Insert the patient’s thumb through the

thumb strap (fig. 2).

• These products can be machine washed under CDC

guidelines for material soiled with blood or bodily fluid.

• For non-contaminated material, use lower temperature

wash and dry cycles to extend product life.

• Fasten all buckles to reduce risk of damage during wash

and dry cycles. DO NOT put buckles through extractors.

For maximum life, launder in a laundry bag.
