Field Description
Basic Rate Set
The Wireless Ethernet Bridge broadcasts
different transmission rates so clients know
which transmission rate to use to join the
network. The Mode selected on the Site Survey
> Active Profile tab determines this setting. You
can also alter the setting here. The default is
Default.
The options are:
All
Ensures compatibility with all
devices.
Default
Ensures compatibility with
802.11b or 802.11g devices
1 to 2
Mbps
The slowest speed available.
11g Protection
Mode
Ensures that your Wireless Ethernet Bridge
does not interfere with neighbor networks.
802.11b networks cannot hear 802.11g
networks, but 802.11g networks can hear
802.11b networks.
The protection mode improves performance
when 802.11b and 802.11g stations co-exist in
the network. The default is Auto.
The options are:
Disabled
802.11g Protection Mode is
never used.
Auto
802.11g Protection Mode is
used if either an 802.11b client
joins the network or the AP
detects an 802.11b network on
the same channel
Frame Bursting
Frame Bursting enables you to send more
frames (collection of packets) within a given
time period.
This feature works with other Motorola products
to increase performance throughput. The
default is disabled.
