Note: You cannot close the cover if no dustbag has been inserted.

emptying the reusable dustbag (some countries only)

In some countries, this vacuum cleaner also comes with a reusable dustbag that can be used and

emptied repeatedly. You can use the reusable dustbag instead of disposable dustbags.

To remove and insert the reusable dustbag, simply follow the instructions in ‘Replacing the

disposable dustbag’.

To empty the reusable dustbag:

Slide the clip off the dustbag sideways.

Shake out the contents into a dustbin.

To close the dustbag, slide the clip back onto the bottom edge of the dustbag.

Cleaning/replacing filters

Always unplug the appliance before you clean or replace the filters.

Motor protection filter

Clean the permanent motor protection filter every time you replace the dustbag.

Remove the dustbag (Fig. 18).

Take the motor protection filter out of the appliance. Shake the filter over a dustbin to clean

it (Fig. 21).

Press the motor protection filter down firmly to make sure that it fits properly at the

bottom (Fig. 22).

Place the dustbag back into the appliance (Fig. 19).

Close the cover (‘click’) (Fig. 20).

Clean air HePa filter (FC8445 only)

The appliance is equipped with the special Clean Air HEPA filter. This filter is able to remove small

particles from the outlet air. This not only includes normal house dust, but also harmful microscopic

vermin such as house dust mites and their excrements, which are well-known causes of respiratory

allergies.

Replace the Clean Air HEPA filter every six months.

Remove the dustbag (Fig. 18).

Pull at the right side of the Clean Air HEPA filter and remove it (Fig. 23).

To place the new filter, insert the ridge into the slot on the left (1) and then press the right

side of the filter home (2) (‘click’) (Fig. 24).

Place the dustbag back into the appliance (Fig. 19).

Close the cover (‘click’) (Fig. 20).
