Remove a spent battery immediately from the
device. There is an increased danger of leaks!

Batteries must not be disposed of in the normal
domestic waste!

Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of
batteries in the proper manner!

Keep batteries away from children; do not
throw them in the fire, short-circuit them or take
them apart.
J
If the above instructions are not complied with,
the battery may discharge itself beyond its end
voltage. There is then a danger of leaking. If
the battery has leaked inside your device, you
should remove it immediately in order to
prevent damage to the device!

note: Follow the instructions for inserting the
battery as described in the section on “Replac-
ing the battery”.

Setting the units of weight
note: the standard unit of weight is kilogram (kg).
The factory default setting for the scales as supplied
is “kg”.

With the device switched on, press the units of
weight button

(KG/LB/ST); the selected unit
of weight is then shown on the LC display

Switching on your scales /
measuring your weight
Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day
(preferably in the morning) after visiting the
toilet, with an empty stomach and without cloth-
ing to ensure that your results are compatible.

Place the scales down on a solid, flat horizontal
surface.
j
Do not place the scales on a carpet, otherwise
this may influence the results. If necessary you
can place a board on the carpet and place the
scales upon this. A solid floor covering is required
in order to achieve correct weight measurements.
Quickstart / aUTo on

Stepping on the scale automatically activates
the Quickstart mode: The scale is now ready to
measure your weight.
j
Place even weight on each leg.
j
If at all possible stand on the same areas of the
platform

each time and do not move. Mov-
ing during the weighing process can lead to
discrepancies in the results.
The scales will start to measure immediately. The
scale shows the result of the measurement, for
example in Fig. A.
j
When the unit of weight flashes twice, the
measurement is complete.
note: If the scales show “
” (see Fig. C), it
signals that the scales are overloaded. Observe
the maximum capacity of 180 kg / 396 lbs / 28 st.

Step off the platform

. The scales switch off
automatically after about 10 seconds.

replacing the battery
note: The scale indicates when it is time to replace
the battery. When you step on to the scale and the
battery is too weak, the LC display
1
shows “ ”
(see Fig. B) and the scale switches off automatically.

If you see this message, replace the exhausted
battery with a new battery of the same type.
