ECHO Incorporated was founded in Northbrook, IL, in 1972 as Kioritz
Corporation of America and established under its present name in 1978,
moving to Lake Zurich, IL in 1985. ECHO
originally imported high-performance 2-stroke
engines and 2-stroke, engine-powered handheld
products for Kioritz Corporation of Japan. Over
time, ECHO developed engineering and manu-
facturing techniques that became the impetus for
the company’s advancement.
Today, ECHO continues to manufacture high performance, handheld
outdoor power equipment for industry professionals and discerning
homeowners and is the technological innovator in the industry. ECHO
is the only 2-stroke engine-producing company that possesses all
manufacturing capability in-house. Using only commercial-grade components,
ECHO equipment is certified to the EPA’s highest engine emission durability
rating available - 300 hours. That means the ECHO products in your tool
trailer or garage will last and last, well beyond those of competitive brands
who cannot achieve similar ratings.
And with the acquisition of Bear Cat Chippers and Chipper/Shredders,
ECHO and ECHO Bear Cat are the
industry’s most reliable source for the best in
tree care equipment. Through unparalleled
engineering standards and patented manu-
facturing techniques, ECHO and ECHO
Bear Cat will remain the industry leaders…
just ask any pro!
Ask any landscape pro or arborist, “Who makes the most powerful and dependable
outdoor power equipment?” and they’ll say, “ECHO” and “ECHO Bear Cat”.
