Page 2: Setting the alarm function, date and time

batteries:
• Remove the film protecting the batteries from the back of the product via the opening in the casing.
• Normal functioning of the product may be disturbed by electromagnetic interference.
If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instruction manual.
• If this product appears not to be working properly, appears to have stopped working
altogether or “freezes” at any point, turn the console off and then on again or remove
the batteries and replace them.
battery Warning!
• Use only batteries of the same type and from the same manufacturer.
• Remove the batteries when the console is not in use over a long period of time.
• Remove empty batteries from the unit
• When changing batteries, change all of the batteries. Never use new and used batteries together.
• Warning! Do not attempt to recharge batteries or to reactivate them by any other means.
Never attempt to take batteries apart and never expose batteries to fire. Never attempt to
short-circuit batteries.
• Always keep batteries out of the reach of children.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged.
• Do not connect the connecting terminals with one another.

• Take special care when dealing with damaged batteries or batteries that may have leaked out.
Dispose of them immediately and with care.
• If you do happen to come into contact with battery acid, wash immediately with soap and water.
If you get battery acid in your eyes, rinse out immediately with plenty of water and seek medical
advice immediately!
Inserting the batteries:
• Unscrew the cover of the battery compartment.
• Place the battery into the compartment. Make sure that the poles of the battery are facing in the
correct direction.
• Replace the battery compartment cover and screw it shut again.
Disposing of your batteries:
Do not dispose of batteries along with domestic waste! Take them to an appropriate disposal
facility, or back to the supplier they were originally obtained from. Batteries are always marked either with
a crossed-out dustbin icon or with a chemical symbol; i.e. „Cd“ for Cadmium, „Hg“ for Mercury and „Pb“
for Lead.

The Game:
Sudoku is a puzzle game. The playing area consists of 81 cells which are divided into 9 rows, 9 columns
and in 9 boxes. The puzzle is solved when, in every row, in every column and in every box, each of the
numbers from 1-9 is entered once. Some numbers are already entered in the game, and the player must
enter the remaining numbers in the correct positions (Illustration 1).
Functions explanation:
Advice! After one minute without making any entry, the apparatus will automatically
switch itself off.
• Press MODE (on the display) to switch between the play function and the settings for alarm,
date and time.
• Press RESET (on the rear of the device) to restore factory settings.
• Press LIGHT (on the display) to activate the background lighting.
This can be deactivated by pressing once again.
• All tones are muted by pressing (on the display).
entry of numbers for the alarm, date and time:
• Numbers are entered by pressing SELECT NUMBER with the stylus.
• A flashing underline shows the currently selected cell in which you are making the change of
entry. To choose a different cell, press on the desired cell with the stylus.
entry of numbers during the game:
• The pre-entered numbers (not changeable) are not shown amongst the underlined numbers
to be inserted.
• Numbers are entered by pressing SELECT NUMBER with the stylus. The selected number will
be displayed in the cell, as well as SELECT NUMBER being underlined.
• To delete the number again, press on the underlined SELECT NUMBER.
• For each cell, several numbers can be entered (reserved). In the cell a ‘?’ will be displayed until
you remove all the reserved numbers except one (Illustration 2).
Setting the alarm function, date and time:
Advice: In the Enter mode, if no entry is made with the blinking cursor within 16 seconds or if
CLEAR is pressed, the apparatus will revert to the previous settings. Should you make an incorrect
entry (e.g. alarm time: 16-87), ERR will flash (Illustration 3).
Alarm:
On/Off switch of the alarm:
Advice! After one minute without making any entry, the apparatus will automatically
switch itself off.
Press START or one of the first 6 cells in the first row. The alarm is switched off when 4 dashes are displa-
yed. When the alarm signal rings, this will continue for one minute, or it can be immediately switched off
by pressing any random key.
Changing the alarm time:
Press AL. Enter the desired alarm time and confirm
this by pressing either SET or MODE.
Date/Time:
Changing the date/time:
Press SET. Enter the desired date and confirm
this by pressing either SET or MODE.
Changing 12/24 hour mode:
Press the first 3 cells in row 6 to change between
the 12-hour and the 24-hour display. In the 12-hour
mode a P or an A will be shown before the time.
