5 ADDITIONAL SAFETY HINTS
For use with cold ashes only! Hot ashes can cause fires and hot air can damage your
vacuum cleaner.
Check ashes carefully for hot embers by raking (use a poker or similar object)!
If hot ashes are accidentally sucked up, place container outdoors for at least 24 hours
before disposing of them.
Check there is a dust bag in the vacuum cleaner before use and that it is not full.
If your vacuum cleaner is very powerful, open air vent on pipe or reduce suction power in
some other way.
This is particularly important if cleaning very fine dust.
6 OPERATION
Fit the connectors (10 and 5) by tightening the screws (A) with the screwdriver (B), install
the dust filter (9) on the connector (10) and attach it firmly.
Place lid (3) on container (1) and secure with lock tabs (2).
Fit one end of suction hose (7) into suction hole (5) on lid (3). Fit aluminium nozzle (8) to
other end of suction hose.
Insert vacuum cleaner hose into rubber seal (6) and check it is secure.
Connect vacuum cleaner to mains electricity and switch on.
Use ash cleaner’s aluminium nozzle to remove ash from fireplace or stove.
If nozzle becomes blocked, switch off vacuum cleaner. Carefully tap nozzle against inside
of stove or fireplace to remove object.
If suction power is reduced, switch off vacuum cleaner and carefully tap container on floor
to clear filter or remove the dust filter (9), wash it by clean and warm water, if necessary,
you can use a mild soap to wash. Dry the dust filter before re-use.
When finished cleaning, switch off vacuum cleaner, hold nozzle vertical to allow loose ash
to fall into container.
Empty container in suitable packaging (e.g. old newspapers) and dispose.
Note: Before use the ash vacuum, make sure all connectors and the dust filter
subassembly (9) is tightly fastened. The container and dust filter must be completely
dry.
7 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Empty water and sludge from the container and clean it by wiping with a damp cloth. Do not
use strong, caustic or abrasive cleaning solutions.
Clean the dust filter subassembly, bang it out and wash, if necessary.
Caution: Do not use cleaning agents to clean the plastic parts of the tool. A
mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended. Water must never come
