Empty the water tank by removing the plug on the underside of the tank. Make sure that
the water does not get into the motor!
8.1
General information on grinding
Use the dry grinding stone for rough grinding and the wet grinding stone for fine grinding.
Never grinds materials such as wood, plastic or very soft metals (e.g. lead), as they can
block the pores of grinding stones, reducing their effectiveness.
Use dry grinding stones for soft metals and wet grinding stones for hard metals.
Cool the item in water at regular intervals when working for extended periods.
When grinding tools, never allow the metal to blue.
9 REPLACING GRINDING STONES
Grinding stones must be replaced when they have worn more than 40mm or if they become
damaged.
9.1
Wet grinding stone
Empty the water tank by removing the plug (h) on the underside of the tank. Make sure
that the water does not get into the motor! Remove the water tank.
Loosen the nut (i) and remove the outer flange (f) and the old wet grinding stone.
Clean the flanges (f and g).
Attach the new wet grinding stone, to tighten the grinding wheel , hold the grinding wheel
firmly by hand and tighten the nut (the thread is opposite-handed to the direction of
rotation causing automatic tightening) fit the outer flange and secure it with the nut
Reattach the water tank and insert the plug.
9.2
Dry grinding stone
Remove the protective shield and the spark screen. Loosen the nut (l) and remove the
outer flange (k) and the old dry grinding stone.
Attach the new dry grinding stone, to tighten the grinding wheel , hold the grinding wheel
firmly by hand and tighten the nut (the thread is opposite-handed to the direction of
rotation causing automatic tightening) fit the outer flange and secure it with the nut.
Replace the protective shield and the spark screen.
Start the bench grinder and let it run freely for a few minutes to check that the stone is
fitted correctly.
10 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Clean the bench grinder by wiping its exterior parts with a damp cloth. Grinding dust and
filings can be removed using a brush or compressed air.
Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
10.1
Lubrication
The transmission gear for wet grinding stone must be lubricated regularly.
Remove the water tank and the cover (m) from the gearbox (o).
Lubricate the transmission gear (n) with plenty of ball bearing grease.
Replace the cover and water tank.
Do not lubricate the rest of the bench grinder.
