wine and other bottled beverages by measuring the temperature of the outer
surface of the bottle. Not suitable for professional use!

safety instructions for Batteries
risK oF Loss oF LiFe! Batteries can be swallowed, which is poten-
tially life threatening. If a battery is swallowed, medical help must be sought
immediately.
Remove the batteries from the device if it is not going to be used for a long
period.
CaUTion! DanGer oF eXpLosion ! never recharge
batteries!
If necessary clean the contacts on the batteries and on the device before
inserting them.
Remove spent batteries from the device immediately. There is an increased
risk of leakage.
If the batteries in your device have leaked, remove them immediately to
prevent damage to the device.
Keep batteries away from children. Do not throw batteries into a fire. Never
short-circuit them or take them apart.
Do not let the fluid from a leaking battery come into contact with your skin,
eyes or mucous membranes. In the event of contact with fluid leaking from
a battery, thoroughly flush the affected area with water and/or seek the
advice of a doctor!
inserting/replacing the Battery
1. For first time use, pull out the battery holder 2 out of the housing (see Fig. C).
2. Replace or install the battery 5 .
Only use battery of the type LR1130. Ensure that the battery is installed with
correct polarity. This is indicated on the battery holder. A wrong polarity
may damage the device.
note: A fading of the display is a hint for the weak battery. Please replace the
battery.
operations
Mount the device onto a wine bottle as shown in Fig. D. Make sure the
temperature sensor 3 is in full direct contact with the bottle’s surface (see
Fig. E, top view). Ensure that the bottle was stored beforehand for a sufficient
time in an area of constant temperature. This is to ensure that the temperature
of the glass is identical to the one of the fluid.
On the backside of the device there is an ON/OFF button 4 (see Fig B).
This button gets pressed when the device is mounted onto the bottle. In this
way the device is switched on.
The device then performs a short display check with all the indicators in the
display light up. Then the measured temperature will be indicated in degree
Celsius. It generally takes approximately 5 minutes before the temperature-
sensor aligns with the temperature of the bottle for the temperature display to
become stable.
note:
The recommended optimal wine temperature is indicated mostly on the label
of the bottle. Otherwise, you may ask your wine dealer.
The optimal measuring temperature range of the device is 0 °C to 50 °C.
Do not use the device out of the mentioned range of temperature as there
will be variances. In measuring an extreme temperature below -19 °C, the
display shows “Lo”; if temperature above 110 °C, the display shows “Hi”.
The temperature sensor should not be placed on the label of the bottle.
The temperature sensor and the bottle’s surface should be cleaned (without
dust/grease). Otherwise, this may cause measurement inaccuracy.
Troubleshooting
If the display temperature is the same as the ambient temperature, this may
be because the temperature sensor 3 is not in direct contact with the bot-
tle’s surface. Please adjust the position of the device so that the temperature
sensor is at its best contact with the bottle surface, and then measure the
temperature again.

Hinweis:
Die empfohlene optimale Weintemperatur wird meistens auf dem
Flaschenetikett angegeben. Fragen Sie andernfalls Ihren Weinhändler.
Der optimale Temperaturmessbereich des Geräts liegt zwischen 0 °C
und 50 °C. Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht außerhalb des angegebenen
Temperaturbereichs, da dies zu Abweichungen führen kann. Bei der
Messung von extremen Temperaturen unter -19 °C zeigt die Anzeige „Lo“
an. Wenn die Temperatur über 110 °C liegt, zeigt die Anzeige „Hi“ an.
Der Temperatursensor darf nicht auf das Flaschenetikett gesetzt werden.
Der Temperatursensor und die Flaschenoberfläche sollten sauber sein (staub-
und fettfrei), da dies ansonsten zu ungenauen Messergebnissen führen kann.
Fehler beheben
Wenn die angezeigte Temperatur identisch mit der Raumtemperatur ist, dann
kann dies daran liegen, dass der Temperatursensor 3 nicht vollständig auf

The device is not dishwasher safe!
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may
dispose of at local recycling facilities. Contact your local refuse disposal
authority for more details of how to dispose of your discarded product.
When your device has come to the end of its life, please do not throw it
out with your household refuse, but in the interests of the environment
take it to a suitable centre where it can be disposed of properly.
Your local council will be able to tell you where the collection centres are
located and their opening times.

Se a temperatura exibida for igual à temperatura ambiente, tal pode
dever-se ao sensor de temperatura 3 não estar em contacto direto com a
superfície da garrafa. Ajuste a posição do dispositivo, de forma a que o sen-
sor de temperatura fique em melhor contacto com a superfície da garrafa e
meça a temperatura novamente.
nota: o aparelho contém componentes electrónicos sensíveis. Por isso é possível
que ocorram interferências em aparelhos sem fios que se encontrem na proximidade.
Remova estes aparelhos da proximidade do termómetro caso detecte avarias.
Descargas electrostáticas podem provocar interferências. No caso deste
tipo de interferências, remova brevemente as pilhas e volte a colocá-las.
Limpeza e conservação
Para limpeza e tratamento, utilize um pano seco, macio e sem pelos.
Este dispositivo não deve ser colocado na máquina de lavar louça!

Falls die Batterien in Ihrem Gerät ausgelaufen sein sollten, entnehmen Sie
diese sofort, um Schäden am Gerät vorzubeugen!
Halten Sie die Batterien von Kindern fern, werfen Sie Batterien nicht ins Feuer,
schließen Sie Batterien nicht kurz und nehmen Sie sie nicht auseinander.
Vermeiden Sie den Kontakt mit Haut, Augen und Schleimhäuten. Bei Kontakt
mit Batteriesäure spülen Sie die betroffene Stelle mit reichlich Wasser ab und /
oder suchen Sie einen Arzt auf!
Batterie einsetzen / wechseln
1. Ziehen Sie beim ersten Gebrauch den Batteriehalter 2 aus dem Gehäuse
(siehe Abb. C).
2. Tauschen Sie die Batterie aus oder legen Sie eine Batterie ein 5 .
Verwenden Sie lediglich Batterien vom Typ LR1130. Achten Sie darauf, dass
die Batterie unter Berücksichtigung der richtigen Polarität eingesetzt wird.
Diese ist auf dem Batteriehalter angegeben. Durch eine falsche Polarität
kann das Gerät beschädigt werden.
Hinweis: Eine verblassende Anzeige ist ein Hinweis für eine erschöpfte Bat-
terie. Bitte tauschen Sie die Batterie aus.
Bedienung
Bringen Sie das Gerät an einer Weinflasche an, wie in Abb. D ersichtlich.
Achten Sie darauf, dass der Temperatursensor 3 vollständig auf der
Flaschenoberfläche aufliegt (siehe Abb. E, Ansicht von oben). Achten
Sie darauf, dass die Flasche im Vorfeld genügend lang bei konstanter
Temperatur gelagert wurde. Hiermit soll sichergestellt werden, dass die
Glastemperatur und die Temperatur der Flüssigkeit identisch sind.
Auf der Rückseite des Geräts befindet sich eine EIN-/AUS-Taste 4 (siehe
Abb. B). Diese Taste wird betätigt, sobald das Gerät an der Flasche befestigt
wird. Auf diese Weise wird das Gerät eingeschaltet.
