J The bulb 9 is not exchangeable.
Safety Instructions
for Batteries
J Remove the batteries from the device if they are
not going to be used for a prolonged period.
J CAUTION! DANGER OF EX-
PLOSION! The batteries must never
be recharged!
J When inserting the batteries, ensure the correct
polarity! This is shown in the battery compart-
ments.
J If necessary, clean the batteries and device
contacts before inserting the batteries.
J Remove spent batteries immediately from the
device. There is an increased danger of leaks!
J Batteries must not be disposed of in the normal
domestic waste!
J Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of
batteries in the proper manner!
J Keep batteries away from children; do not
throw them in the fire, short-circuit them or take
them apart.
J If the above instructions are not complied with,
the batteries may discharge themselves beyond
their end voltage. There is then a danger of
leaking. If the batteries have leaked inside your
device, you should remove them immediately in
order to prevent damage to the device!
J Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. Any parts of the body coming into
contact with battery acid should be rinsed off
with copious amounts of water and / or a doc-
tor contacted if necessary!
Q Use
Q Insert Batteries / Filling of the
salt and pepper mill
Indication: The salt and pepper mill is intended
for peppercorns or coarse salt.
Proceed as follows:
1. Please hold the base with container
6 tightly
and turn the top 1 anticlockwise (see fig. A).
2. Now please pull the top 1 off the base with
container 6 (see fig. A).
3. Pull the motor 3 carefully off the base with
container 6 (see fig. A).
4. Pull the battery ring 7 off the motor 3 (see
Fig. A).
5. Insert 4 new batteries type AA 1.5 V
(LR06) (see fig. A).
Indication: Pay attention to the right polarity.
This is shown in the battery compartment.
6. Place the battery ring 7 back on to the motor
3 (see Fig. A).
7. Fill up the base with container 6 with pepper-
corns or coarse salt. The best result will be
achieved when filling the base with container
6
up to 75 %.
8. Put the motor 3 back on the base with contai-
ner 6 .
Indication: Please make sure that the con-
tacts
4 , 5 face each other (see fig. A).
9. Put the top 1 back on the base with container
6 .
Indication: Close the mill by turning the top 1
clockwise.
10. Please hold the base with container 6 tightly
and turn the top 1 clockwise (see fig. B).

Using of the salt
and pepper mill
j Please keep the button 2 pushed to activate
the salt and pepper mill. The bulb 9 on the
base of the salt and pepper mill will then be
simultaneously activated.
