OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
When any key on the keypad is pressed, the
"row" and "column" lines for that position are
shorted together to produce a "closed" switch
condition. If the "KEYBOARD ENABLE" input
to the RDU is active, the RDU scan recognizes
this as a keypress input. For RDU response
to keypresses, refer to the "RDU KEYPAD
FUNCTIONS" section of the User Reference
Sheet for the RDC.
When the RDU is performing self-diagnostics,
pressing any key on the keypad will interrupt
the exercise of the alphanumeric (upper)
display of the RDU, and the XY coordinate of
that key position will be displayed (refer to
the "SELF-DIAGNOSTICS" section of the User
Reference Sheet for the RDU).
