Engine Oil
Oil Recommendations
POLARIS recommends the use of POLARIS PS-4 PLUS Performance
Synthetic 2W-50 4-cycle oil or a similar oil for this engine. See the table
on page 72 for fluid recommendations, capacities and plug torques.
Oil may need to be changed more frequently if POLARIS oil is not
used. Always use 2W-50 oil. Follow the manufacturer's recommenda-
tions for ambient temperature operation. See page 125 for the part num-
bers of POLARIS products.
NOTICE: Mixing brands or using a non-recommended oil may cause serious
engine damage. Always use the recommended oil. Never substitute
or mix oil brands.
Oil Level
Check the oil level when the
engine is cold. Never check the
oil with the engine running.
Access the oil dipstick and fill
tube from the left side of the
vehicle.
1. Position the vehicle on a
level surface. Place the trans-
mission in PARK.
2. Remove the dipstick. Wipe it
dry with a clean cloth.
3. Reinstall and tighten the dip-
stick.
4. Remove the dipstick and
check the oil level.
5. Add the recommended fluid
as needed. Maintain the oil
level in the safe range
between the FULL and ADD
marks. Do not overfill.
6. Reinstall and tighten the
dipstick.
