Problem Possible Causes Remedies
Diesel engine
won’t start
Not enough fuel Refill with fuel
Fuel valve is not open Open the fuel valve
The engine start lever is not
in RUN position
Turn it to the RUN position
Fuel injection pump and
nozzle not delivering fuel, or
not delivering sufficient fuel
Remove the nozzle and
repair it at test table
Low oil
The specified oil level
should be between the
upper level and the lower
level
The nozzle is dirty Clean the nozzle
The recoil starter is being
pulled with insufficient force Start the engine according
to the start procedure
The battery is too weak
Charge the battery or
replace it with a new one
The generator
is not
producing
power
AC circuit breaker switch
not turned on
Turn it to the ON position
The carbon brush is worn Replace the carbon brush
The power outlet contact is
poor
Adjust the power outlet
The rated speed is not
being reached Adjust it according to the
requirements
AVR is damaged Replace the AVR
