OPERATION
Wait 20 minutes after the test subject smokes, eats, or drinks alcohol
before testing. Failure to wait 20 minutes can give inaccurate BAC
readings and harm the sensor.
Step 1) Insert a new mouthpiece each time you test another individual.
Step 2) SLIDE UP AND HOLD the ON/OFF power switch for 1 second until
you hear the startup tones. The device will display
“On” and count
from 000 to 100% as it prepares the sensor for testing.
Note: The device will restart a count if the sensor is not ready within the
first count.
Step 3) When you hear a SINGLE BEEP and the unit displays
“READY - - -” take a DEEP BREATH, wrap your lips around the new
mouthpiece and
BLOW STEADILY (for at least 5 seconds) until a
DOUBLE BEEP sounds to signal completion of the testing. Do not
cover the BREATH OUT hole.
Note: If you do not blow within 30 seconds the device will display “Off”
and power down. Continue from step 2.
Step 4) A circling line will display for approximately 5 seconds followed by
“RESULT”, your estimated BAC, and a long beep.
Note: The unit’s backlight will turn from blue to red, display “WARN”, and
play alarm tones when the result is higher than 0.05% BAC.
Note: If you consumed very little alcohol, your actual concentration may
be below 0.01% BAC and the unit will display 0.00% BAC and emit a long
beep.
Note: After the result has been displayed for 20 seconds the device will
display
“Off” and power down.
Step 5) For more testing, wait two (2) minutes and repeat steps 1-4.
