Installation of the USB driver under Linux
If you have connected the dsl
+
1100 duo via USB, your computer will recognise
the router as a network interface, which means that the dsl
+
1100 duo is to be
treated like any other network interface (e.g. a PCI network card).
Please note that the command
ifconfig -a
can only be executed as "root".
Entering the command ifconfig -a displays all network interfaces. Each net-
work connection has an identifier that consists of 'eth' and a unique number
(e.g. "0" for the first device, "1" for the second, etc.).
Configuration—single application (for installation test)
All of the IP addresses named here are examples only. They refer to the first net-
work interface eth0.
After listing all of the network interfaces with the command ifconfig -a, con-
tinue with the configuration with the following entry ifconfig eth0 198.168.0.1
