Installing Tracktion
The CD that came with your Profiler Model 5 contains Tracktion, compliments of Mackie.
Tracktion is an easy-to-use multitrack audio recording and MIDI sequencing software applica-
tion, capable of unlimited track count, VST support, automation, and much more. It comes
with a variety of EQ, compressor, and effects plug-in processors for creating exactly the
sound you want.
To install the software:
For a PC
Place the CD into the CD drive on your computer. Double-click the file “TracktionSetup.exe”
and follow the instructions to install Tracktion on your PC.
For a Macintosh
Place the CD into the CD drive on your computer. Double-click the file “TracktionSetup.dmg”
and drag the Tracktion icon into your Applications folder.
Visit http://my.mackie.com to register Tracktion. If you haven’t already done so, set up an
account by entering your email address and clicking, “No, I want to create an account.” Then
click “Continue.”
Enter the information to set up your profile. Then click, “Create My Account.” Proceed to regis-
ter your Tracktion software.
Your computer must meet the following minimum system requirements:

• Pentium III or better processor
• 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
• 30 MB hard disk space
Macintosh Requirements

OS X (10.3.9 or later)
• Power Mac G3 (600 MHz or faster), G4, or G5 processor
• 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
• 35 MB hard disk space
After you have installed Tracktion, start the application and connect your Profiler Model 5 to
your computer using a standard USB cable. Click the “Settings” tab in Tracktion, and select
“Profiler by CRATE” in the Wave Device drop-down box under the Audio options. When you
create a new project, two inputs will appear in the edit page corresponding to the Profiler
Model 5’s left and right inputs.
