This guide discusses how to install the D-Link’s DES-1008M Flex-Media
10/100Mbps Ethernet Switch, work with its panels, and make network
connections.
Terms
For simplicity, this documentation uses the terms “ Switch” (first letter
upper case) to refer to the DES-1008M Flex-Media Ethernet Switch, and
“ switch” (first letter lower case) to refer to all Ethernet switches, including
the DES-1008M.
Overview of the User’s Guide

mation on system unpacking and description of various external
components of the Switch.

power, and replacing the system fuse.

making connections to various network devices such as workstations,
repeaters, and switches.
