Y/C to Composite Converter
Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Burst
Electronics Model YC2C Y/C to Composite
Converter. The YC2C converter accepts a Y/C
video signal and converts it to a standard NTSC (or
PAL) composite video signal. The Y/C signal is also
referred to as S-Video, S-VHS, or Hi8. All of these
formats are identical. They each contain separate
signals for the luminance and synchronization
information (Y) and the chrominance or color
information ©. These two separate signals are
combined into one video signal, the composite video
signal.
Operation
Connect the Y/C signal into one of the input
connectors. The connector is a standard 4-pin
miniDIN. The composite video signal will appear on
the BNC output. This is a standard 75 Ohm output.
Internal Jumpers
The Y/C input is terminated into 75 Ohms. If you
want to use the Y/C Loop Out and not terminate,
then remove jumpers W1 and W2. These are
accessed by removing the four cover screws.
