1.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
BCI’s 6830E/6831E Series is designed to meet the massive needs for
Gigabit network deployment and is able to extend a copper based Gigabit
network via fiber cable.
In addition, the 6830E/6831E adapts the WDM technology and is able
to provide Gigabit communication via a single optical fiber. The
6830E/6831E provides the best cost effective solution to double the
bandwidth of an existing network.
The 6830E/6831E is fully compliant with IEEE802.3z and 802.3ab
standards. The installation and operation procedures are simple and
straightforward. Operation status can be locally monitored through a
set of Diagnostic LEDs located in the front panel (as shown in Figure 1-1).
