MOUNTING LOCATION FOR THE UNIT
Take the following into account when selecting
a mounting location:
1. The sensor achieves optimum performance
when installed at 2.5 metre height.
2. Avoid installing it near flowers or bushes,
since this can lead to false alarms during wet
and windy weather.
3. The range and sensitivity are dependent on
the ambient temperature. For this reason,
avoid installing it near or aiming in the direc-
tion of heat sources, such as exhaust vents,
since this can cause false alarms.
4. Avoid aiming it in the direction of bright
lights, since the unit will not function if you
have the LUX selector dial set to night-time
mode (
 Position).
5. Avoid installing it near strong sources of
electromagnetic disturbance since these can
cause false alarms.
6. The sensor reacts most strongly to move-
ments that cross the monitoring field. Move-
ments directly toward or away from it regis-
ter more weakly. Mount the unit in such a
manner that it is aimed toward the location
in which movement is supposed to be de-
tected.
