If the fuel system has a leak – HONDA 2002 Civic GX - Owner's Manual User Manual
Page 41

You may detect a slight natural gas
odor for a few moments after
refueling. This is normal. You should
not be able to smell natural gas at
any other time. If you do, or if you
hear a hissing sound, your vehicle’s
fuel system may have a leak.
If this happens, follow these
directions:
Park your vehicle in a well-
ventilated area and apply the
parking brake.
Keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
Open all the windows and the
trunk lid for ventilation.
Turn the ignition switch to the
LOCK (0) position.
Turn the manual shut-off valve to
the OFF position to shut off the
natural gas (see
on page
in this
supplement).
You cannot continue driving. Your
vehicle should be towed to an
authorized Honda Civic GX dealer
(see
in the
primary owner’s manual).
