Inspection
●
The packaging has been designed to protect the luminaire from damage during transit. Inspect luminaire
for damage before installation.
Handling
●
Never lift or handle the luminaire by holding the power supply housing. Instead, the luminaire should be
lifted by grasping both the LED deck and the rear luminaire housing (see figure f).
Mounting the Luminaire on a Round Tenon Arm
●
To mount the luminaire, begin by opening the wiring compartment door using the tool-less, spring-
loaded latch (see figure a).
●
The luminaire mounts to round tenon arms with 1.625” to 2.375” outside diameters.
●
Loosen (do not remove) the fitter bolts.
●
Lift the luminaire into position in front of the tenon arm such that the tenon arm enters through
theopening at the rear of the luminaire and between the fitter bracket and the luminaire housing.
●
Insert the tenon arm through the fitter brackets and onto the cast leveling steps as far as required to
properly level the luminaire. Each steps equals 21⁄2 degrees of luminaire tilt.
●
If more upward tilt of the front of the luminaire is needed, lift the front of the luminaire and move it back
until the tenon rests on the next set of leveling steps toward the front of the luminaire. This will provide
21⁄2 degrees of upward tilt. If an additional 21⁄2 degrees of upward tilt is required, move the luminaire
back to the next set of leveling steps (see figure e & f).
●
If downward tilt is needed, reverse the procedure by lifting the back of the luminaire, and sliding the
luminaire forward onto either of the other leveling steps toward the rear of the luminaire.
●
With the luminaire properly positioned, initially tighten the mounting clamp bolts to approximately 6-8
foot pounds. Use an alternating pattern of bolt tightening to ensure secure seating of the mounting
brackets onto the tenon.
●
Check the luminaire position for the correct degree of front-to-back tilt, and to make sure the side- to-
side position of the luminaire is level. After final adjustments are made, tighten the mounting clamp
bolts to 14-16 foot pounds again using an alternating pattern of bolt tightening. The torqued bolts and
mounting clamps should provide a firm grip on the tenon and prevent any movement or rotation. Do not
over-tighten the mounting bracket bolts.
Wiring
●
NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connections are in accordance with the National Electrical Code
(NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
●
NOTE: Check the rated input voltage on the luminaire product label, and verify that the supply voltage
meets the product requirements.
●
Wiring connections are made on the terminal block inside the wiring compartment (see figure c).
●
Wire leads to terminal block according to the wiring diagram (see figure g). Connect wire leads as
follows:
o CONNECT WHITE (common) supply wire to white luminaire wire.
o CONNECT BLACK (hot) supply wire to black luminaire wire.
o CONNECT GREEN (ground) supply wire to green luminaire wire.
●
When making electrical connections, make sure that the ground wire on the supply side is connected to
the ground lug on the terminal block. Under no circumstances should the ground wire be connected to
a supply or power wire. This will cause the luminaire to fail, and the luminaire will not be covered under
warranty.
●
After all connections have been made, close the wiring compartment door, and make sure it is securely
latched.
●
Test luminaire by installing a shorting cap or photocell in the photocell receptacle.
Maintenance
●
Depending on environmental conditions, it may be necessary to clean the lens in order to maintain a
high-efficiency lens. (Use solvent-free cleaners.)
Storage
●
Prior to installation, the luminaire should be placed in a covered, dry storage. The storage location
should not exceed the normal operating temperature of the luminaire.
