RADIO RECEPTION

HOLD<

• Set the FUNCTION selector to RADIO.

Connect headphones to the socket Ci- The

headphone lead will function as FM-aerial.

• Adjust the sound with the VOLUME control and the

DBB BASS button.

• To unlock the radio buttons, if necessary, remove
the HOLD-symbol from the display by pressing

HOLD once.

• Select the wave band using the BAND button; FM

or MW appears.

• Tune automatically, manually or by means of the

PRESET-buttons UP/DOWN to a radio station.

Automatic tuning
• Keep the TUNING UP or DOWN button pressed

until the displayed frequency keeps on changing;

then release the button. The receiver stops when
finding a strong transmitter.

• If the transmitter found is not the desired one,
simply repeat this operation.

Manual tuning
Manual tuning is useful when you already know the

frequency of the desired transmitter (e.g. from your

programme guide).

• Keep the TUNING UP or DOWN button pressed.
• When approaching the required frequency, re­
lease this button and press the opposite TUNING
button briefly; the displayed frequency stops.

• Then press TUNING UP or DOWN briefly each time.

In this way the frequency is changed step-by-step

until finally the right frequency has been reached.

• When the word STEREO appears, you are receiv­

ing a FM-stereo transmitter. A disturbing noise, due

to a weak FM-stereo signal, can be suppressed by

pressing the STEREO button once. The word STE­
REO will disappear and you will hear the FM
programme in mono.
• The radio returns to STEREO when pressing
STEREO once or when selecting another transmitter.

• To switch off the radio, place the FUNCTION
selector to CD or CD HOLD.

When carrying the set with you, press the HOLD

button; On. appears on the display. The radio buttons
are then locked and radio reception is not interrupted

when a button is accidentally touched.

To defeat the HOLD-function, press HOLD again;

disappears.

PREFERRED TRANSMITTERS - PRESET

You can store the frequencies of up to 18 transmitters

in the memory, 9 for each wave range.

• Select the wave band using the BAND button.

Manual storing

• Using TUNING UP/DOWN. tune either automati­

cally or manually to the frequency to be stored.
• To store the frequency shown, keep MEMORY
pressed (PRESET flashes) and select at the same

time the desired PRESET location using the PRESET

UP/DOWN buttons. When releasing MEMORY, the

frequency is stored.

Automatic storing - AUTOSTORE

Press AUTOSTORE. Now. the radio will fully

automatically search for the 9 strongest transmitters
and store these under the 9 PRESET locations.

A stored frequency is only erased from the

memory by storing another frequency in its place.

• If the power supply is interrupted, the contents of
the memory will be kept for 24 hours.

Tuning to a preselected transmitter

• Select the wave band using the BAND button.
• Select the desired PRESET location using the

PRESET UP/DOWN buttons.

Scanning PRESET transmitters

• Press PRESET UP or DOWN longer than 1 second.
Now, the radio plays each PRESET transmitter for a

few seconds,
• The moment you hear a desired transmitter, press

briefly one of the PRESET buttons and scanning

stops.
