actuating button. Darkness of roast of the
coffee beans, humidity and quantity of
beans being ground will effect the length
of time required to grind the beans to the
proper degree of fineness. In general a
good starting point is to run the grinder for
10 seconds. After 10 seconds stop grind­
ing and allow the motor to come to a com­
plete stop. Then check the result and if the
frind is not yet fine enough close the cover
and run the grinder for another 5 seconds.
If you are attempting to obtain the pulveriz­
ed coffee required for Turkish coffee repeat
the 5 seconds grinding step, allowing the
motor to come to a full stop after each
5 seconds of running, until the proper
fineness is achieved. For Turkish coffee
this will usually require one 10 second run
followed by four runs of 5 seconds.
Cleaning and maintenance
The Bosch MKM 6000 series coffee grinder
requires no special care other than occa­
sional cleaning. Before cleaning always be
sure to unplug the appliance. With the
coffee grinder unplugged you can remove
the cover and wipe it clean with a brush or
damp cloth. The cover may be washed, if
desired. The slant basket should be clean­
ed with a brush or dry (not wet) cloth. The
exerior of the grinder body should periodi­
cally be wiped with a damp cloth.
Important: Never immerse the grinder in
water or attempt to wash the coffee
grinder in any liquid. To do so could result
in damage to the grinder as well as an
electrical hazard.
Service and repair
The coffee grinder is a sealed unit and no
repair is possible. Do not attemt to repair
the appliance yourself. Any work perform­
ed by unauthorized personal may void the
warranty. If the coffee grinder fails within
the warranty period it should be returned
to your dealer of the manufacturer with
a proof of purchase, showing the date of
purchase, for replacement.
