The
Pioneer
TV-CATV remote
control unit controls the CATV
converter as well as the "ON/OFF"
"MUTE" and "VOLUME" functions
of televisions that presently have
remote control.
NOTE: The remote is pre-programmed
to operate the Pioneer converter and
control the volume using the converter.
A. CATV CODE PROGRAM
PROCEDURE
Al. To Program Remote for use with
a TV equipped with remote
control:
1.1 Enter "SET Mode" (See note 1)
Note 1:
To enter the "SET Mode", perform
the following procedure:

until indicator lamp flashes (approximately
3 seconds). If the indicator lamp lights
immediately after pressing the & |
Keys, release the keys and try
again to depress the keys simultaneously.
If the indicator lamp stops flashing after
releasing the keys, depress the above keys
again until lamp flashes.
1.2 Press Key momentarily -
Lamp should stop flashing and stay on.
1.3 Press keys "0", "0", "2", "5" (Indicator
lamp should flash with each key
pressing and blink twice and turn off
after last key press. If indicator lamp
just turns off, the code has not been
entered correctly and the procedure
should be repeated beginning at
StepAl. 1.1.)
1.4 Program TV Code as defined in the
"TV Code Program Procedure"
A2. To Program CATV code for use with a
TV NOT equipped with remote control:
2.1 Enter "SET Mode" (See Note 1)

lamp should blink twice and turn off.
If indicator lamp just turns off, the code
has not been entered correctly and the
procedure should be repeated beginning
at Step A2. 2.1.)
2.4 The remote is now ready to control
your CATV converter box.
B. TV CODE PROGRAM PROCEDURE
1.1 ENTER "SET Mode" (See NOTE 1)
1.2 Press the Key momentarily
1.3 Look up appropriate TV and enter the
first code (for instance, for an NEC TV,
depress keys "0", "2", "3" )
1.4 Aim the remote at the TV and depress
the Ml Key. If the TV turns on (or
off) the code is correct and the remote is
ready for use.
The remote is now ready for use.
If the TV does not respond, repeat the
procedure beginning with Step B. 1.1 and enter
the next code for that model TV until the TV
turns on (or off).
If the TV does not respond after all codes
are tried, use the procedure "SCAN TV
PROCEDURE".
SCAN TV PROCEDURE
1.1 Enter “SET Mode” (See Note 1)
1.2 Press jBi Key

1.3 Press mi SLOWLY and repeat
pressing until TV turns on (or off).
It may require more than 100 key
depressions to find the proper code.
1.4 Press

Use two (2) AAA batteries
NOTE: If new batteries are replaced
within 2 minutes after the old are
removed, the program should be
retained and reprogramming will not
be required.
