INSTALLATION
¾ WARNING: Read, understand and follow the Important Safety Instructions in the beginning of this manual
before proceeding. To reduce the risk of fire, connect only to a circuit provided with 40 amperes maximum
branch-circuit over current protection installed and wired in accordance with National Electrical Code,
ANSI/NFPA 70. This unit is not provided with a GFDI device and must be used with an external GFDI
device as required by Article 690 of National Electrical Code for the installation location. To reduce risk of
electric shock, remove all sources of power, PV and battery before installing. Adjustments or connections
other than those shown in Figure 3 void the limited warranty.

sécurité spécifiés au débout de ce manuel. Afin de réduire le risque d’incendie, brancher uniquement à
un circuit fourni d’une protection contre le courant excessif de 40 ampères par circuit de dérivation,
installé et câblé en conformité avec le Code Électrique National ANSI/NFPA 70. Cet appareil n’est pas
fourni avec un dispositif GFDI (détecteur et interrupteur différentiel) externe tel que prévu dans l’Article 690

no está equipada con un dispositivo GFDI (Interruptor detectador de corriente de pérdida a tierra) y debe
ser utilizada con un dispositivo GFDI externo conforme a lo estipulado en el Artículo 690 del Código
Eléctrico Nacional para la ubicación de instalación. Para reducir el riesgo de una descarga eléctrica,
desconecte todas las fuentes de energía, conjuntos fotovoltaicos y baterías antes de la instalación. Todo

OVER VOLTAGE / REVERSE POLARITY PROTECTION
Solar Boost 3048 is fully protected against reverse polarity and high voltage transients for both the PV and the battery. If the
battery is connected reverse polarity, Solar Boost 3048 will not operate. If the PV array is connected reverse polarity, Solar Boost
3048 will not provide output current and the Solar Panel Current display will show negative current. Should high PV current be
available during reverse PV connection the heatsink will become quite warm but no damage to the unit will result.
