Battery or battery maintainer is
defective.
If defective, try to repeat the conditions
a second time by disconnecting and
reconnecting the battery charging
cables. If the LED status repeats a
second time, try charging a different
battery. If a different battery charges
normally, dispose of the defective
battery.
If a different battery also
indicates “Defective”, the maintainer
may be defective.
ELECTRONIC FEEDBACK
NOTE: Be careful not to short across the terminals when
installing. Shorting the terminals together can cause
sparks, damage to the battery or generator, or even burns
or explosions.
CHARGING
See Figures 6 - 7.
Ensure the voltage selector switch is in the off position.
Connect the battery maintainer to the power supply. Make
sure the power supply is normal household voltage, 120
volts, AC only, 60 Hz.
Attach battery charging cable to the battery maintainer
and then to the battery.
Slide the voltage selector switch to the appropriate
voltage setting.
Once charging begins, the green LED should start to flash.
NOTE: If the green LED does not flash or if the red LED
comes on, the battery is not charging properly. Turn
the battery maintainer off and refer to the
Electronic
Feedback section for solutions.
The battery will become slightly warm to the touch while
charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
When charging is complete, the green LED will remain on
continuously. This indicates the battery is fully charged
and the maintainer is in Float Mode.
The maintainer will periodically wake from Float Mode to
ensure the battery remains in a fully charged state.
When you remove the battery, disconnect the negative
(black) wire first, then the positive (red) wire, being careful
not to short across the terminals. Always abide by the
safety warnings provided with the battery.
NOTE:
It is highly recommended that you refer to your
battery manufacturer’s instructions for specific charge
times.
Unplug charging cable and store for later use.
NOTE: Place end cap onto the battery charging cable
when not in use.
