X Press buttons  or Á to separately
adjust the interior air temperature on each
side of the passenger compartment.
X Activating: Press one button U .
The indicator lamp in the button comes on.
AUTO appears in display 4 ( Y page 160).
The air volume and air distribution are
adjusted automatically.
X Deactivating: Press button · or Q .
AUTO disappears in display 4 . The auto-
matic function for air volume is switched
off, and air volume is controlled according
to the desired setting. The automatic air
distribution remains switched on.

X Turn air distribution control 1 or 7
( Y page 160) on each side of the passenger
compartment to the desired symbol.
The indicator lamp in button
U goes out.
Automatic air distribution is switched off in
the corresponding zone, and air distribu-
tion is controlled according to the desired
position. The automatic air volume remains
switched on.
Setting the temperature
You can adjust the air temperature for each
of the 4 zones separately. You should raise or
lower the temperature setting in small incre-
ments, preferably starting at 72‡ (22†).
Front zones
X Increasing/decreasing: Press button
Á or  until the desired temperature
appears in display 4 ( Y page 160).
Rear zones
X Press button 5 .
Display 4 ( Y page 160) switches over.
X Increasing/decreasing: Press button
Á or  until the desired temperature
appears in display 4 .
After approximately 5 seconds after the
last adjustment, display
4 switches back
to its standard display.
i You can also press button 5 once
more to switch back to the standard dis-
play.
Rear climate control
You can adjust the air temperature on each
side of the rear passenger compartment. You
should raise or lower the temperature setting
in small increments, preferably starting at
72‡ (22†).
X Increasing/decreasing: Press button
Á or  until the desired temperature
appears in display 2 ( Y page 163).
