Beware of hot surfaces! The exterior of the kettle and lid will get very hot during operation.
Only use handles and knobs for handling the appliance. Beware of hot condensate and
steam, when opening the lid.
Immediately switch OFF and unplug the appliance, if water leaks out of the kettle.
Do not overfill the water container beyond the maximum water level mark 1600/MAX (1.6
litre). Otherwise boiling water could splash from the kettle during operation, causing injuries
to persons and damage. Dry spilled water immediately.
1. Prepare the power base for use.
Completely unwind the power cord from the cord storage and insert it in the gab on the
bottom of the power base. Place the power base on an appropriate surface (level, dry,
water-resistant and heat-resistant). During operation, always keep the appliance away from
other objects: leave at least 20 cm of free space on each side and 1 m of free space above
the appliance. Ensure, that the power base will not tilt or wobble.
2. Fill with pure drinking water.
Lift off the lid by pulling the loop. Fill with the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle
between the minimum (750) and maximum marks (1600/MAX; 1.6 litre) on the water
gauge.
• Too little water will result in the kettle switching OFF before the water has boiled.
• Filling above the maximum mark on the water gauge of the kettle may result in
boiling water splashing from the kettle.
3. Ensure, that the lid is locked firmly into place and place the kettle onto the power base.
The electric contacts of the multi-directional power base will slide into a corresponding opening
in the bottom of the kettle. The power base will work out in any orientation.
NOTE: Always keep the lid closed during operation. Otherwise power consumption
increases significantly.
CAUTION! Only with the lid closed, the kettle automatically switches OFF, once the water
has boiled.
4. Plug the power cord into a 230/240V power outlet and switch ‘ON’ (‘green’ position).
The power ‘ON’ light and the water gauge will illuminate and the heating element starts
heating.
WARNING! The exterior of the kettle will get very hot during operation and even some
minutes after switching ‘OFF’ the appliance. In addition, beware of steam venting from the
lid and spout and hot condensate, especially when opening the lid or pouring out water.
Always keep your hands, face and arm as well as any clothing and other objects away
from the lid and spout of the kettle. Always use the soft grip handle for moving the kettle
and take care to keep the kettle level to avoid boiling water pouring out unintentionally.
Beware of steam when the kettle is hot: always take your hands off the
handle when lifting off the lid to avoid scalds. Only touch the loop when
lifting off the lid.
