10. When the brewing cycle ends, the ready light will flash for 3
seconds and then expire. In the meantime, the display changes to nor-
mal clock status. Wait a few minutes for the rest of the coffee to drain,
before finally removing the glass carafe.
11. The warming plate will keep the carafe warm for 2 hours as long
the coffeemaker is switched on. The warming function will switch OFF
automatically after 2 hours. However, always switch OFF the coffee-
maker manually (ON/OFF button), when the glass carafe is empty or you no longer want
to keep the coffee hot to avoid wasting energy. When the coffeemaker is switched OFF, the
ON/OFF light will no longer illuminat.
12. After the coffee grounds have cooled, you can remove and empty the filter basket.
(See: “Cleaning the Filter Basket“).
13. After finishing the brewing cycle, you should unplug the coffeemaker, to avoid unnecessa-
ry power consumption. However, keep in mind that any programming for automatic operation
will be deleted by doing so. (See: “Automatic Operation“)
The Aroma Function
Use this feature if you want your coffee taste more intensive. Fill the
water reservoir to the water level 4 and add the required amount
of coffee depending on your coffee taste. Press the AROMA- button
before switching on the appliance. AROMA- and ON/OFF-lights will
illuminate on the display. The lights will expire after the brewing pro-
cess is finished. it is possible to interrupt the function by pressing the
AROMA-button again.
Note: You can only use this function if you make less than 5 cups of coffee. It slows the brew-
ing process, thus the coffee taste will be more intensive.
The Pause & Serve Function
The Pause & Serve function allows you to pour out some coffee, while the
brewing cycle is still running. There is no need to interrupt the brewing cycle
manually.
WARNING: DO NOT remove the glass carafe from the coffeemaker for
more than a few seconds, because this will temporarily stop the coffee from
dripping into the carafe, it does not stop the brewing cycle. ALWAYS
ensure that the Pause & Serve mechanism is closed and the cof-
fee will not run on the warming plate, when removing the glass carafe. When
the coffeemaker is switched ON and there is still water in the water reservoir, the filter basket
could overflow and water could run into the housing of the appliance. Thus, the carafe must
be returned to the warming plate immediately to open the Pause & Serve mechanism.
1. You may take the glass carafe out of the coffeemaker for a short time to pour out some
coffee. The Pause & Serve mechanism stops the coffee dripping off the filter basket.
2. IMMEDIATELY replace the glass carafe to the warming plate to avoid overflowing of the
filter basket. Doing so, ensure that the coffee drips into the glass carafe again.
CAUTION: If coffee grounds or lime block the Pause & Serve mechanism, the coffee will drip
