Before use

• Unpack the appliance and remove all the packing materials.

• Inspect the appliance and the accessories carefully to verify their soundness and undamaged condition. Only

perfectly sound and damage-free appliances may be connected to the electrical mains.

Levelling of cutters

• The electric hair cutter was delivered with both blades levelled and oiled at the factory.

• Re-level both the fixed lower blade and the vibrating upper blade if they are removed for cleaning or

maintenance, or if they are replaced.

• Blade levelling (bringing to line) is carried out so as to align both the fixed lower blade and the vibrating

upper blade. The blades must have teeth upwards and blade lifting arm pushed forward to give point-to-point
control. The edges of the upper blade shall be about 1 mm to 2 mm further back compared to those of the
lower blade.

• If the blades are not level and their position is incorrect, drizzle some drops of oil onto them. Next, connect the

hair clipper to the mains and switch on for a short period. Switch off the appliance and unplug from mains.
Unlock the fixing screws for the fixed lower blade with a screwdriver and adjust lower blade into correct
position. After positioning, retighten fixing screws .

Lubricating and oiling of cutting blades

• In order to keep the hair clippers in good working order, from time to time, lubricate the blades with a few

drops of oil at the marked lubricating points.

• Do not apply hair oil, machine grease, mixed oil or solvent to lubricate the blades. Solvent removes and

washes away the fine oil film from the blades. This slows down their movement increases wear.

Information about lubricating oil:

-

Lubricating oil is derived from mineral oil. Only apply it to the marked lubrication points on the blades.

-

It is toxic when swallowed.

-

Do not allow children access to it.

-

Avoid skin contact as it can cause allergic symptoms.

-

If it get in your eyes or mouth, you should immediately seek medical advice.

Use of blade lifting arm

• Use the blade lifting arm to make fine adjustments to the cutting height.

• Should the blade lifting arm be at its highest position, the hair will be cut to its shortest length.

• When turning the blade lifting arm gradually downwards, the length of hair cut is increased.

• If you are trimming hair and fibres become trapped between the blades, moving the blade lifting arm

between the upper and lower positions helps to remove them. This can be done with the hair clipper
operating. Repeating this action each time you use the appliance helps keep the blades clean.

• If in the course of time the cutting power of the trimmer decreases, and removing trapped fibres as described

above does not improve it, the blades have become blunt. Please replace worn out and blunt blades.

Warning: be cautious and act with deliberation when adjusting the blade lifting arm. Take care not to
bend it excessively and remember that the arm cannot be wheeled round. When forced or stressed,
the blade lifting arm may break.
