Notes
Please read the instruction manual thoroughly before using your new appliance. It is important to keep these
instructions as a useful reminder that’ll help you enjoy the many features available. The manufacturer is not
responsible if the appliance becomes damaged or defective as a result of the user not following the information
included in the instruction manual. If the appliance becomes faulty during regular use, it should only be repaired
by an authorised service engineer.
ImportaNt safety INformatIoN
The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance. Please read this section
very carefully!
Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so
we ask you to apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t
described below.
• The heater must only be used in houses, flats or offices as described in this manual. Any other type of use,
including commercial hire or use in shops, is prohibited. Do not use the appliance outside!
• Warning! This heater is not designed for wet conditions. Never use the heater in a bathroom or in a kitchen.
Never use it near a basin, in a place that becomes wet or in an area with high relative humidity.
Warning! this appliance is only designed to provide supplementary heating. you are
recommended to switch the heater off after 15 minutes of continuous use and allow it to cool
down completely. the manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by excessive continuous use.
Never put the heater directly under a mains socket. Do not use the heater with a
programmable switch or timer because switching the appliance on when it’s covered or in
an inappropriate place could cause a fire.
Warning! Never leave your home - even for a short time - with the appliance turned on
(connected to the mains)!
When the appliance is no longer in use always turn it off and then remove the electric
cable from the socket of the power supply (mains) or the extension cable.
Warning: the appliance must never be covered when it is connected to the mains, even if
the connection is switched off. Blocking the flow of air may cause overheating and a risk of
fire. Never dry any clothes or other fabrics on the appliance.
• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without
experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under
the age of 14, not even with supervision!
• Don’t use the appliance in the presence of explosive or inflammable gases, vapours or liquids.
• Make sure the heater is not likely to fall or to be knocked over when switched on because this could cause a
fire.
• Should the appliance fall into any kind of liquid during operation do not grasp it, first disconnect it from the
mains and only remove it from the liquid when the power has been disconnected. Take it to an authorised
service engineer for checking and repair.
• The heater must only be used at floor level. Never place it on a shelf or on other furniture. Before using the
heater, put a flat heat-resistant surface under it to protect the floor or carpet. The surface should be large
enough to cover the floor if the heater is knocked over. Keep the heater as far as possible from papered walls
and curtains. It should be at least 1 metre away from flammable objects in every direction.
• Do not allow any pets near the heater when it’s connected to the mains. Make sure you position the heater so
that pets and plants (including those in an aquarium or terrarium) are not affected by the heat.
• Important! Never dip the equipment in water or hold it under running water while cleaning it.
• Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the
appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.
• Do not touch the appliance with moist hands. Plug the connector of the appliance into the mains with dry
hands only, and check that the casing, power cord and connector of the appliance as well as the mains socket
are dry. Should any moisture get inside the casing of the appliance stop using it immediately and take it to a
specialized service for checking or repair.
• Make sure nothing falls into the openings on the front or back of the heater. When using and storing the
heater, take care not to bump it, drop it or step on the base. This could deform the protective grill, crack the
cover or damage the heating elements. Any failure caused by this type of carelessness is not covered by the
manufacturer’s warranty.
• Before moving the heater, unplug it from the mains and wait until it has cooled down completely.
• Keep the mains cable away from sharp or hot objects. Keep the cable away from the protective grill and the
hot air at the front of the heater. Never use the mains cable to pull or lift the heater.
• The appliance should only be packed away for storage if it has cooled down completely.
