repaired by a specialist engineer.

• To avoid the risk of electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Never touch the

appliance with wet hands. Connect and disconnect the power cable to the socket with dry hands only. Should
moisture get inside the casing of the appliance for any reason, stop operation immediately and take the
appliance to an authorised service engineer for checking or repair

• The mains connector must be always disconnected from the wall socket after use and before cleaning. Never

disconnect the appliance from the socket by pulling the mains cable; always grip the plug!

• Never move or lift the appliance by pulling the power cable. When moving or using the appliance, take care

to avoid the cooking plates hitting each other.

• Only use the appliance in a dry, dust-free and frost-free area where the temperature

is between +5°C and +40°C.

• Never lead the power cables around sharp corners or along or above hot surfaces. Never wind the power

cable around the casing of the appliance, and do not drag or lift the appliance by the power cable because it
might tear away or the insulation might become damaged. Use the cable cleat (holder) to store the excess
cable section. If the power cable of the appliance has become damaged, have it replaced at an authorised
service engineer. Do not connect the appliance to the mains if the power cable is damaged.

• Never use the sandwich maker near a gas or electric hob and protect it from any external heat sources. Do not

use it in a covered or enclosed space (e.g. below the cupboard of a fitted kitchen). Keep the appliance away
from direct sunlight as this could cause the casing to fade or discolour.

• Keep the mains cable away from the hot parts of the appliance when you’re using it.
• Make sure you remove all packaging from food before putting it inside the sandwich maker.
• Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface before using it.

Some parts of the appliance will become very hot when it’s being used. Do not touch these
surfaces during use or when the appliance is cooling down. Even a short, accidental contact could
burn you.

• Do not move the appliance when it’s connected to the mains or is cooling down.
• Do not use the sandwich maker without food (except when setting it up for the first time).
• Never cover the sandwich maker or use it near flammable material (e.g. curtains etc).
• Avoid touching the cooking plates with sharp or abrasive objects as these can damage the non-stick surfaces.
• Do not allow anything to fall into the appliance and do not push anything into the opening of the appliance

as the appliance could be damaged and could cause electrical shock.

• To avoid overloading your electrical supply, do not use another high-power appliance in the same mains

socket or extension as the sandwich maker.

• If your appliance is damaged or operates in an abnormal way, immediately stop using it and take it to an

authorised service engineer for checking, repair or adjustment.

• Modifying or adding an extra length to the power cable of the appliance is forbidden!

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.

Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.
• This appliance has been designed for household use only, no other (heavy duty) uses are permitted.
• Do not use the appliance with any kind of timer or relay switch.
• Do not use the appliance continuously for more than 60 minutes.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.

Warning! Do not leave the sandwich maker unattended - even for a moment - when it is switched
on. When you have finished using the appliance, switch the power off before unplugging it from
the mains socket. Take care not to touch the cooking plates inside the machine as these will
remain hot for a while. Don’t attempt to move, clean or store the appliance until it has cooled
down completely.

• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without

experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended
to make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under
the age of 14, not even with supervision!

• Never use an appliance or accessory that the manufacturer did not supply with or propose for use with the

appliance. The use of such appliances might lead to accidents or irregular function.

• Do not use the sandwich maker on wet surfaces or near a sink containing water.
• Only use the appliance on a stable, level surface. Keep it away from water and make sure it cannot

accidentally slip or fall. If the appliance comes into contact with any kind of moisture or liquid during use,
immediately unplug it from the mains. Do not touch it or attempt to take it out of the liquid until the mains
