POWER SUPPLY

The appliance should only be connected to 230V~ 50Hz electrical mains with a protective earth
connection. Always verify that the mains voltage at the place of use is the same as the voltage
indicated in the rating label on the appliance.

USING OF APPLIANCE

Before using the product

Unpack the toaster and remove all packing materials. Check the appliance carefully to ensure it is complete
and undamaged. You should only use the toaster if it is complete and has not suffered any damage. After
checking it, clean the toaster as detailed in the 'Maintenance and cleaning' section.

Before using the toaster for the first time, set the browsing control to '3' and switch the toaster on (press the
loading lever) without putting any bread inside. Repeat this process again when it switches off. The toaster
will give off a distinctive smell that soon disappears.

Ensure there is adequate ventilation when using the appliance.

Using of appliance

1. Place the toaster on a stable, flat surface. Make sure the appliance cannot be knocked over and cannot be

pulled off. Remember to put a heat-resistant mat under the toaster before using it.

2. Connect the toaster's power cord to a mains socket and turn the browsing control to your preferred setting.

Insert one or two slices of bread into the toaster and press down the loading lever until it locks in place. The
red light around the STOP button will indicate that the toaster is on.

3. When the loading lever is pressed down, the toaster mechanism will lower the bread and the appliance will

switch on. After the bread has been toasted to the level set by the browning control, the appliance will switch
off and the loading lever will return to its original position. The toast can now be removed; take care when
doing this because the bread will be hot.

4. Allow 60 - 90 seconds before using the toaster again. This allows the toaster to cool slightly, which means

your bread will be toasted evenly.

5. To finish using the appliance, either wait for the toaster to switch off automatically when the toast has

finished browning or turn the toaster off by pressing the STOP button. The red indicator light will go out when
the toaster is turned off. Always disconnect the power cord from the mains socket after you've finished using
the toaster. Only touch the toaster after it has been disconnected and has cooled down completely. The
toaster should only be cleaned, moved or packed away when it is cold.

Attention!

• do not cover the toaster when it is switched on.

• remove all packaging from the bread before toasting.

• never use the toaster to defrost deep-frozen or particularly damp products that could

drip moisture into the appliance.

• never use the toaster with products that have been sprinkled with sugar or oily seeds

as they could easily catch fire.

• do not toast broken or uneven slices of bread/cake as they could jam the toaster and

catch fire.

How to set the browning level

The required browning time is a matter of individual preference. It's affected by the moisture and the
thickness of each slice.

The amount of browning can be adjusted from light to dark by using the control on the front of the toaster.

Thicker slices may need longer browning times.

Attention!

• make sure your slices of bread have the same thickness if you're toasting them at the

same time.

• toasting can be interrupted at any time by pressing the STOP button.

How to reheat toast

To reheat a piece of cold toast, put it in the toaster, press the loading lever and then immediately press the REHEAT
button. The toaster will reheat the toast automatically. (The browning setting does not affect this process). During
reheating, the indicator lights around the STOP and REHEAT buttons will both be on. At the end of reheating, the
toaster will switch off as normal. Never reheat toast that has already been buttered.

Toasting frozen bread

Bread can be toasted straight from the freezer. To do this, set the toaster to your chosen browning level. Put your
frozen bread in the toaster and press the loading lever, then immediately press the FROZEN button. During
toasting, the indicator lights around the STOP and FROZEN buttons will both be on. At the end of toasting, the
toaster will switch off as normal.
