4. Install existing or new brushes so the

curved surface of the brush end

matches the curvature of the motor

commutator (as seen through the brush

opening).

NOTE: The detent on the brass clip must fit

into the slot on the side of the brush pocket,

which secures the brass clip in the proper

position (Figure C).

5. Reinstall brush covers by angling the

non-clip end into the opening. Make

certain brush spring is centered in the

“V” notch on brush, then snap closed

the clip end of the brush cover.

6. Plug power cord into a wall outlet. Run

the rotary tool at full speed for 5

minutes under no load. This will

properly seat the brushes and extend

the life of the tool.

Tool Lubrication

There is no need to lubricate the rotary tool.

Cleaning The Tool

Ventilation openings and switch levers must

be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do

not attempt to clean by inserting pointed

objects through openings.

The tool may be cleaned

with compressed air.

Always wear safety goggles

when cleaning tool with

compressed air.

Certain cleaning agents

and solvents will damage

plastic parts. Some of these are:

gasoline, carbon tetrachloride,

chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia

and household detergents that contain

ammonia.
Clean the “soft grip” areas of the tool using a

damp cloth. Tougher soiled areas may

require more than one wipe application to

get clean.
