ASSEMBLING THE DECK ADAPTER (#62468)
TO THE MOWER DECK

2. Identify your mower deck (see fold outs) and cut
out the correct discharge opening template for your
mower deck size. If there is no template for your deck
size you can make your own template by marking
around a piece of cardboard held against the edge of
the discharge opening.
3. Tape the template to the face of the adapter, locating
template approximately 1/2" from front and 1/4" down
from top of adapter. Keep as close to top as possible.
See figure 24. Mark outline of template on face of
adapter using white crayon, nail or scriber. Drill a
starting hole inside the outline, then use a saber saw
or key hole saw to cut out the opening. See figure 24.

CaUTiON: Mower deflector must be
replaced when Mow-N-Vac deck adapter
is removed. Do Not operate mower
unless adapter or deflector is in place and
properly mounted.

Keep cut-off as close to
the top edge as possible. IMPORTANT:
1/2" FROM FRONT
Remove the mower discharge deflector from your •
mower deck. Save the deflector and hardware for
remounting deflector.

D 3 Nylock Nut, 5/16"
E 5 Nylock Nut, 1/4"

G 12 Flat Washer, 5/16" Std.
H 5 Nylon Washer
I 1 Mounting Strap
J 1 Angle Bracket
K 1 Mounting Bracket
NOTE: Not all of the parts in the deck adapter hardware
package will be needed for your particular fit up.
BEFORE PROCEEDING, look in the yellow fold-out sheet to find templates for
Sears mower decks (look in the white fold-out sheets for additional templates). If
written instructions are printed on the template, follow those instructions instead
of the instructions in this manual.
