Guide rod laser
Installing your LaserMax Guide Rod Laser
Slide the factory recoil spring onto the Guide Rod Laser making sure the accuracy
washer is in place on the guide rod.
With the short legs of the battery cap facing the barrel, firmly grasp the battery
cap and insert the assembly into the slide while pushing forward and down. When
installing the Guide Rod Laser, be sure that the legs on the battery cap of the
Guide Rod Laser rests centered and flat against the bottom of the front barrel lug
as shown in figure 4 & 5.
With the magazine still removed, reassemble the slide to the frame. Pull the
slide ¼” past the barrel locked position and rotate the disassembly latch to the
horizontal position as shown in figure 6. If resistance is felt during assembly, do
not force. Remove the slide, ensure that the cap and short legs are positioned as
required, then attempt assembly again.
Cycle the slide fully several times allowing the slide to go forward under full
pressure of the recoil spring to make sure that the Guide Rod Laser is seated in the
frame.
That’s it! Now test your new LaserMax Guide Rod Laser.
OPERATION
Point the pistol in a safe direction. To activate the laser, push in the disassembly
latch/laser switch pin with your trigger finger until a click is felt. A red indication
mark will be visible from the opposite side.
The laser should be projecting a pulsing red beam that closely matches the
factory open sight.
Turn the laser sight off by recentering the disassembly latch/laser switch, pressing
in the opposite direction until the red on indicator is no longer visible.
Pressing the disassembly latch/laser switch further will turn the sight on again
and expose the red on indicator.
