Ensure the correct automatic transmission fluid is used. MERCON
and
MERCON
V are not interchangeable. DO NOT mix MERCON and
MERCON
V. Refer to your Scheduled Maintenance Guide to
determine the correct service interval.

Approximate dry capacity, includes cooler and tubes. Fluid level should
be checked by a qualified service technician.

Service refill capacity is determined by filling the transmission to the
bottom of the filler hole with the vehicle on a level surface.

Use of synthetic or synthetic blend motor oil is not mandatory. Engine
oil need only meet the requirements of Ford specification WSS-M2C929-a
(4.0L) or WSS-M2C930-A (4.6L) and the API Certification mark.
