Important Safety Instructions

When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be taken.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER

WARNING

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury:

• Use only as described in this manual.

• Use only manufacturer's recommended accessories and attachments.

• Do not use without exhaust afterfilter in place.

• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair, or other

materials that may reduce airflow.

• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.

• Do not allow to be used as a toy.

• Do not allow appliance to be operated by or near children.

• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.

• Do not use to vacuum flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline. Do not use in areas where such

liquids may be present.

• Do not vacuum anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

• Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.

• Do not change the plug in any way. Do not use adapters. To reduce risk of electrical shock, this appliance has a

polarized plug. This plug will fit in an electrical outlet only one way. If it does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to

install the proper outlet.

• Turn off all controls before unplugging.

• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

• Do not use with damaged cord or plug.

• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or

corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

• Do not attempt to service this unit. Return appliance to an authorized Aerus center if it is not working properly, has

been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water.

Save These Instructions

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Unpack the vacuum cleaner from the carton. Identify

the parts shown below. (Fig. A)

2. To assemble handle, swing handle away from

vacuum cleaner body (Fig. B). Continue moving

handle until in line with vacuum cleaner body.

3. Support handle and apply gentle pressure with your

hand at point show by arrow (Fig. C). Handle will

snap into its operating position.

4. Reversing this procedure (Fig. B) will allow the handle

to fold into a storage position. Please note that

excessive folding may cause damage to the motor

housing or handle.

5. The included floor tool is a deluxe swivel tool that can

be adjusted for all floor surfaces simply by stepping

on the adjusting lever. Simply attach to the opening

at the base of the vacuum cleaner. This opening is

also designed to accept standard canister tools for

additional types of cleaning on all types of surfaces –

on or above the floor.

OPERATION

1. Plug unit into a 110-120 volt AC electric outlet.

2. Your vacuum is equipped with a two speed switch. High power is recommended for hard floors and permanently

installed carpeting. Low speed is for use on throw rugs and other light cleaning tasks – including above the floor

cleaning.

3. To empty the dust compartment, pull back on the release tab. Grip the dust compartment and pull out (Fig. D).

Empty dust compartment and brush off exhaust afterfilter. Frequent cleaning of the dust compartment and

afterfilter will provided maximum performance.

4. The exhaust afterfilter bag may be removed (Fig. E) and washed in water. Replace bag only after it is completely

dry. Never operate the vacuum cleaner without the afterfilter or dust compartment in place.

5. The power cord can be wrapped around the cord hooks on the back of the vacuum (Fig. F). For convenient storage,

your QuickLux

®

can be hung on a hook (Fig. G), stored in a closet or under a bed with the handle folded.
