Speed measurement mode
Note: To obtain the best results in speed measurement mode, the target object
should be moving directly towards (or away from) the user. The device cannot be
used to track the speed of an object moving across the field of view. The maximum
speed that can be measured is 300 kilometres per hour and the minimum is 5
kilometres per hour.
Make sure that the LCD is displaying Speed. If not, briefly press the ‘MODE’ button
to switch to this mode.
To begin measuring the speed of the object in view, briefly press the power button.
The laser indicator will begin to flash whilst the target is being acquired. Once the
target has been acquired, the ‘>’ symbols will flash in sequence to indicate that the
speed is being measured. It is important to keep the target object in the centre of the
LCD display whilst the measurement is being made.
To switch between measuring in kilometres per hour (Km/h) and metres per second
(M/S), press and hold the ‘MODE’ button. Note that in metres per second mode, the
measurement indicator uses the first two digits to show tens and units, the third digit
is the decimal point and the fourth digit is tenths of a metre per second. For
example, 28_9 indicates 28.9 metres per second.
Once the measurement has been made, the speed will be shown at the bottom of
the display as below:
The Tracker 660 will power off automatically if not used for 20 seconds.
