ASSEMBLY
1) Open the shipping container and remove all materials for restraining or protecting the vacuum
lifter. Save the container for use whenever the lifter is transported.
2) Bolt the center arm securely in place using
the bolts provided.
3) Attach each Powr-Grip hand cup to the pad
frame, as follows (see illustration):
3
Remove the cotterless hitch pin from the
saddle mount for the hand cup, allowing the
saddle to slide out from the pad frame.
With the vacuum pad facing toward you,
position the handle of the hand cup in the
saddle. Then rotate the hand cup 180°
around the handle’s axis, to the orientation
shown.
Slide the saddle into the pad frame until the
mount fits snugly around the hand cup’s
handle.
Insert the cotterless hitch pin in the saddle mount to secure
the hand cup. Push the pin through the holes until the
retaining ball emerges on the far side of the pad frame arm.
4) Suspend the lifter from a crane as follows: Select hoisting
equipment (crane and hoist, when applicable) rated to carry
the maximum load weight plus the lifter weight (see SPECIFICATIONS: Load Capacity and
Lifter Weight).
Note: Any application of the lifter must conform to all statutory or regulatory standards that
relate to the hoisting equipment when used in its geographical location (eg, relevant OSHA
standards in the USA).
WARNING: Hoisting equipment hook must be fitted with restraining latch to
prevent lift sling from slipping off under any circumstances.
Attach the hoisting equipment hook to the lift sling, and use the hoisting equipment to raise
the lifter. Now the lifter is operational.
5) Perform Operational and Load Tests for the lifter as directed in MAINTENANCE: T
ESTING
S
CHEDULE
.

Other hand cups may reduce load capacity or be incompatible.
