Dartmoor Bar Chair
Step 1 & 2
Lay the back assembly on its side. Insert the seat into
the mortise holes of the back assembly.
To secure the seat to the back assembly, first slide two 70 mm bolts
into the outer holes in the back of the back assembly (see illustration I)
and insert the barrel nuts into the opposing hole in the bottom of the
outer seat rail (see illustration II). Next slide the 50 mm bolts into the
inner holes in the back of the back assembly (see illustration I) and insert
the barrel nuts into the opposing hole in the bottom of the inner seat rail
(see illustration II). NOTE: Use the extra 50mm bolt as a guiding bolt
in this step.

With a hammer, drive 6 dowels into the predrilled holes
on the front legs. Insert the tapered end of the dowels first.
NOTE: The dowels should be easily driven in flush. If there is
strong resistance, do not force the dowel. Sand to smooth
off areas around the dowel pins. A

2 Line up the foot rest 5 , and insert into the leg brace
on the back assembly. Slide the front left leg and the front right leg onto the tenons
of the seat and footrest. NOTE: dowel holes should face back legs.
Secure the footrest by using the two remaining 70 mm bolts and
barrell nuts as shown. NOTE: Use the extra 50mm bolt as
a guiding bolt in this step.

How to align barrel nuts and bolts.
I nsert a guiding bolt into the end of a barrel nut. Align the barrel nut inside of the component with the bolt used to connect the components. Once the component bolt is aligned and threaded, simply pull the guiding bolt from the end of the barrel nut.
