DO NOT attempt to run the compactor until the
Safety and Initial Start-up sections have been
read,
1. Place the fuel valve lever (Figure 10) in the "ON" position.

2. Place the Engine ON/OFF switch (Figure 11) in the "ON"
position.

3. Place the Choke Lever (Figure 12) in the "OPEN" position.

NOTE
The CLOSED position of the choke lever enriches
the fuel mixture for starting a COLD engine. The
OPEN position provides the correct fuel mixture
for normal operation after starting, and for
restarting a warm engine.

4. Place the throttle lever (Figure 13) halfway between fast
and slow .

NOTE
Some compactor units may be equipped with a
throttle lever (Figure 13A) that is located in the
vicinity of the hydraulic pump. This throttle lever
is connected to the engine throttle linkage.
