Operation
Warning: All tools are extremely sharp. Handle with caution when
opening, closing, and operating individual tools. Open only one tool
at a time.
Pliers and Grippers
1. Unfold Labtool by pulling handles apart.
2. Continue to unfold handles until pliers are completely visible.
3. Squeeze handles together to use tool as pliers or grippers.
4. Handles are initially stiff to operate and become more flexible with use.
Warning: Close all other tools and blade components before operat-
ing pliers or grippers.
Wire Cutters
1. Unfold Labtool by pulling
handles apart.
2. Continue to unfold handles until
pliers are completely visible.
3. Insert wire at base of pliers and
squeeze handles together.
4. Wire cutters can be used when
handles are semi-open. See
diagram.

to cut wire.
Warning: Always wear safety protection for eyes when cutting wire.
Keep fingers clear of handles.
Wood Saw, Serrated Blade, Small Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver,
Bottle/Can Opener
1. Unfold Labtool by pulling handles apart.
2. Continue to unfold handles until pliers are completely visible.
3. With INCHES side of handle facing up, lift handle cover on left side of
Labtool.
4. Carefully pull desired tool out of handle compartment.
5. Tools are initially stiff to pull out and become more flexible with usage.
Note: It may be necessary to press lock release button on inside of handle
to pull out desired tool more easily.
6. Fully extend desired tool until a click is heard. Tool will be locked in
place. Close handle cover while operating tool.
Note: If desired tool does not click to lock in place, another tool in com-
partment may not be completely stored.
7. To store tool, press lock release button on outside of handle, open han-
dle cover. Fold tool into handle compartment and close handle cover.
Warning: To prevent accidental unlocking of tool, do not press lock
release button during operation.
Knife, File, Large Screwdriver, Medium Screwdriver, Nut Driver
1. With INCHES side of handle facing up, lift handle cover on right side of
Labtool.
2. Follow steps 3 through 7 above to use desired tool.
WARNING: Always use caution and keep fingers clear when closing
components into the handles.
WARNING: When wire cutting in these positions, keep fingers and
hands clear of approaching handles to avoid getting pinched. Be
alert to dents in handles caused by hard wire. Always wear eye pro-
tection when cutting hard wire.
