LOG SPLITTER
OPERATION
4.3 oPeraTing The Log SPLiTTer
Warning
Keep all body parts away from the cutting area while the
splitting wedge is in motion.
cauTion
Obtain and wear safety glasses at all times when
operating the machine.
Do not wear loose fitting clothing.
The operator should always wear heavy boots, gloves,
pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

cauTion
Do not place your hands on the ends of the log when
loading the log splitter. This is a very unsafe method and
could result in injury to your hands.
Ensure the engine is running at full RPM before

Select a log no more than 24 inches (61 cm) in length

the ram, reposition the log and try again.
Pull the control lever back to the reverse position. the

lever will automatically return to the neutral position
when the cylinder is fully retracted. Keep all body parts
clear of the ram while it retracts.
Remove the split pieces and repeat the steps above

cauTion
Depending upon the type of wodd being split, a log may
not always break into two pieces and fall to the ground.
If a log sticks to the wedge and starts to return with the
wedge during reverse, stop the cylinder retraction and
remove the wood. Care should be taken to prevent the
wood piece from falling on parts of your body.
