The debris loader tailgate adapter kit allows DL10570 and
DL8390 models to easily slide onto a vehicle tailgate.
INSTALLATION
Set the tailgate adapter on the hitch tube of the debris 1.
loader as shown in Figure 1. The adapter should rest
on the engine support channel.
Attach the tailgate adapter assembly to the debris

loader hitch tube with two 3/8" U-bolts, four flat washers
and four nylock nuts. Torque hardware to 30 ft-lbs.

Before inspecting or servicing any part of this machine,
shut off power source, disconnect spark plugs and make
sure all moving parts have come to a complete stop.

Adjust the hitch tube so it sits flush with the tailgate 3.
adapter (see Figure 2). if the hitch tube is not adjusted
properly, it may scratch the tailgate. Use one of the two
options below to make the adjustment:
Mark and cut the hitch tube so it sits flush with the a.
tailgate adapter.
Remove the middle 5/16" bolt from the fan housing
b.
hitch channel (Figure 2). Loosen the remaining
two 5/16" bolts in the hitch channel. Then, loosen
the four 3/8" U-bolts on the engine support and
tailgate adapter. Slide the hitch tube back until
the front end of the tube is flush with the tailgate
adapter. Tighten the 3/8" nuts on the U-bolts to 30
ft-lbs. and reinstall the three 5/16" bolts in the fan
housing hitch channel. Drill the top hole through
the hitch tube.
ATTACHING THE DEBRIS LOADER
Make sure the tailgate of the vehicle is in the upright 1.
position and latched securely.
Hoist the debris loader. Position the lip of the tailgate

adapter (Figure 2) above the vehicle tailgate.
Slowly lower the tailgate adapter lip onto the tailgate.

Make sure the support plate rests on the vehicle 4.
bumper. if it doesn't, loosen the 3/8" carriage bolts and
move the support plate within the slots. if necessary,
you can also remove and reinstall the support plate
in a different set of slots. Torque 3/8" hardware to 30
ft-lbs. when finished.
Use the two 3/8" bolts and adjustment nuts to tighten

the adjustment bar against the vehicle tailgate.
ensure the vehicle tailgate is properly latched before
attaching the debris loader with the tailgate adapter
installed.
