5. If Equipped, remove the EGR connection from the stock exhaust manifold. Depending on
model, this could be on either the Driver or Passenger side.
6. Remove Oil Dipstick Tube, it is bolted to the cylinder head on the driver’s side. Take care not
to damage O Ring at the bottom of the tube.
7. Unbolt the bracket and cable from the passenger side, above the exhaust manifold. Retain the
larger bolt for reuse.
8. Unbolt both the Driver’s and Passenger’s side exhaust manifold and remove. Remove the
gaskets and any gasket material or carbon deposits that remain on the head surface. The use of
a gasket removal agent will ease the removal of any gasket material. Use care not to get debris
into the exhaust ports.
9. The Oil Dipstick needs to slide through the header and into the block as you install the Driv-
ers Side header. On models with the EGR on the drivers side, loosely thread the EGR tube into
the header before bolting the header to the head. Apply a small amount of anti seize to the sup-
plied Header Bolts and start all the headers bolts with lock washers. Torque the bolts to 23 ft.
lbs. Starting from the center and working out.
10. Tighten the EGR Tube if applicable and tighten the Oil Dipstick bolt.
11. Slip the Passenger side header into position from inside the wheel well. On models with
the EGR on the Passenger side, loosely thread the EGR tube into the header before bolting the
header to the head. Apply a small amount of anti seize to the supplied Header Bolts and start all
the headers bolts with lock washers. Torque the bolts to 23 ft. lbs. Starting from the center and
working out.
12. Tighten the EGR Tube if applicable.
12. Re-attach the cable and bracket on top of the header using the (1) original bolt and the (2)
additional bolts supplied with this kit.
13. Apply a thin coasting of high Temp, Sensor Safe Silicone Sealant to the collector domes and
re-connect the exhaust system to the new headers using the hardware provided.
14. Check that all bolts are tight. Make sure that all wiring, fuel lines, transmissions lines, brake
lines etc are clear of the headers and the exhaust and relocate as necessary.
15. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Start the engine, check for leaks and test drive. Then let engine cool and then re-torque the
header bolts.
18. Periodically check and retighten the header bolts.
