BLANK TAPE SEARCH Automatically searches for the

AUTOMATIC CHANNEL SETUP Activating this
feature allows the VCR tuner to scan through
television frequencies, automatically storing active
broadcast channels into memory.Then, only active
channels programmed into memory are tuned, using
the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons on either the
remote or front panel of the VCR. Automatic channel
preset can be repeated whenever desired, should new
channels become available. Channels can be manually
added or deleted.
181-CHANNEL FS TUNING The digital quartz
tuner is capable of receiving up to 181 channels,
including UHF, VHF, and 113 cable channels, without
the inconvenience and expense of a cable company
decoder/converter (on non-scrambled cable systems).
Channel tuning is by random access with the remote
control transmitter or scan tuning up and down by
remote or at the set.
LED FUNCTION INDICATORS Alerts the user to the
status of all important recording and playback features
with simple, easily recognized, international symbols.
BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) ON-SCREEN
FUNCTION DISPLAY
Indicates record/playback
functions, channel number, clock setting, date, counter,
programming, one-touch record, and record standby,

ON-SCREEN, REAL-TIME COUNTER WITH TIME
SEARCH
Unlike the 0000 to 9999 tape counters
found in standard VCRs, this unit incorporates a
linear, real-time counter which shows elapsed
recording and/or playback time in hours, minutes, and
seconds. Now you can advance or return to selected
tape segments in any time increment you desire.
TIMER/PROGRAMMER BACKUP SYSTEM Retains
timer programming information for up to one full
minute in the event of momentary power interruptions.
TAPE REMAINING TIME COUNTER No more
guessing! This menu-driven, on-screen display
provides a visual indication of recording time
remaining on the videocassette currently in use.

JUST-IN-TIME RECORDING Ends the frustration
of timed recordings that are too long for the tape in
the cassette. During a timer recording in the SP
mode, this feature calculates the amount of tape
remaining and automatically adjusts tape speed from
SP to SLP in an effort to complete the recording
before you run out of tape.
REPEAT PLAY When the VCR recognizes no
recorded signal or reaches the end of a tape with the
Repeat Play control activated, it will automatically
rewind to the beginning and enter the Play mode
again. Repeat Play can be discontinued by touching the
button a second time or by changing operation mode.
QUICK START MECHANISM Quickly and
effortlessly switches the tape mechanism from Stop to
Play in only one second, instead of the approximately
5 1/4 seconds of older models.
AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT/OUTPUT JACKS Connect
your VCR to the direct audio and video inputs of a
television receiver or monitor equipped with input
jacks for better picture and sound quality during tape
playback. Jacks also allow a second VCR to be
connected for editing and/or duplicating personally
recorded, non-copyrighted videotapes.
VARIABLE SLOW MOTION View SP or SLP video
recordings in slow motion in both forward and
reverse modes. Slow motion speed can be adjusted
from 1/5th to 1/60th normal speed in either direction.
15X FORWARD/REVERSE LATCHING SEARCH
Search in forward or reverse mode at 15 times
normal playing speed in SLP, and 5 times normal in SP.
The Latching Search feature provides continuous
forward or reverse search with a single touch of the
control. A second touch stops the search operation
and returns the unit to the Play mode.
HI-FI STEREO SOUND WITH BUILT-IN
MTS/SAP DECODER
Record stereo
videotapes from stereo sound sources and play
back pre-recorded hi-fi stereo tapes in hi-fi
stereo sound–with an excellent 90dB+ dynamic
range–through a stereo-equipped TV or regular
TV and stereo hi-fi home audio system.The
built-in MTS/SAP decoder allows reception and
recording of off-air television stereo broadcasts
and second audio program transmissions, where
available. Backup memory logic retains the cable
channel guide map indefinitely, even during a
power failure or when the VCR is disconnected
from its power source.
ONE-TOUCH RECORD Record up to eight
hours or to the end of the tape with the touch
of a single button. Each touch of the OTR button
adds 30 minutes of additional recording time.
7-EVENT/1 YEAR SMART PROGRAMMING
Program your VCR for unattended recording of
up to seven separate programs over a full 365-
day period. No manual setting, adjusting, or
programming of the calendar function is required.

tape playback begins, this feature automatically
seeks the optimum tracking position in the
tracking range, and the optimum audio signal
tracking position for clearest picture and sound
from videotapes. Controls are provided on the
remote transmitter to give you manual control
